I am a fine art painter working in acrylic on canvas. I received a BA in art from Marylhurst, University; studied iconography with master iconographer Sherry Lynch; and attended classical painting workshops in Portland, Oregon. Subject matter in my work varies from photorealistic flower blossoms to abstract imaginary creatures. I am constantly seeking to expand my knowledge of painting techniques. In my recent work, I have been exploring ideas related to liminality, verisimilitude, and the sublime.
I currently live and work in Rochester, NY with my husband, Dustin, and my cat, Mimsy. I am a member of The Shoe Factory Art Co-op, Rochester’s alternative art gallery.
Inspirations include: Alice Neel’s portraits, Winslow Homer’s seascapes, Andrew Wyeth’s Helga pictures, Louise Borges’ spiders, Kiki Smith’s quirkiness, and every painting ever made by Gerhard Richter.
